1900's Baccarat cameo crystal box with Puiforcat 950 solid silver for Russia

Here is a superb Baccarat crystal box. Lovely design with flowers, like Baccarat eglantier pattern. The 2 colours crystal is acid etched and gilt by hand. It is signed with the rare old big Baccarat's mark, acid etched under the base: BACCARAT FRANCE DEPOSE.

This mark, a bit smaller, will be used a bit later, from 1936. The sterling silver lid has been made by one of the most famous French silver maker: EMILE PUIFORCAT. The lid is stamped with the French silver mark Minerva + the Emile Puiforcat mark + a Russian 84 mark. It shows this box has travelled to Russia.

Dimensions: Diameter: 12,5 cm (5 inches) Height: 7 cm (2 5/8 inches). Total weight: 470 grammes (rather heavy in hands).

Very good condition, only a few little scratches of use on the silver lid. This is definately a superb and rare work of art from the Baccarat crystal factory!
