A Galle three colour cameo glass bowl Date : c1920 Origin : Nancy, France Bowl Features : Acid cut back. Magenta convolvulus flowers and blood orange leaves on a citrus ground Marks : Cameo signed Gallé. Signed with Latin script é and not underlined. This is a post war signature.

Size : 7cms tall and 15.5cms diameter Condition : Excellent Restoration : None Weight :684 grams. One of the last acid cut back floral examples made by Galle.

The style was rejuvenated after the first world was but was soon to fall to the wayside as modernist and deco designs surged in popularity. I have been involved in the antiques business since 1971. My career took a leap forward when I joined Bonhams in 1976. Some five years later I became head of the Decorative Arts department.
