Art Nouveau Cameo Glass (Pâte de Verre) Vase Cristallerie de Pantin Daum, Gallé. Weighs just over 5 lbs. Note that pieces of this size are hard to come by.Signed TSV Cristallerie de Pantin on base. "TSV" stands for Stumpf, Touvier, Viollet & Cie. This vase can be accurately dated to around 1900 because in the 1890s, Touvier replaced one of the original founders, E. Then before 1910, Camille Tutré de Varreux replaced Touvier and starting marketing pieces with the signature De Vez.
Note that during this early period, vases were still being signed on the bottom (like ceramics), not along the side of the vase as with later ones by Daum, Gallé and, in fact, De Vez. The history of Cristallerie de Pantin is detailed in the book, Glass: Art Nouveau to Art Deco by Victor Arwas. Pantin, a suburb of Paris, was a hub of Art Nouveau glass production. Legras and Mont Joye were also located there, and many craftsmen circulated among the three.
Cristallerie de Pantin is also extensively discussed in the book, Art Glass. How to Compare & Value by Louise Luther. Thanks for looking and please check out my other listings!
