Bohemian Ruby Glass Cameo Portrait Vases-Pair
A Mated Pair of Bohemian Ruby Glass Cameo Portrait Vases, circular spreading domed foot, supporting flaring high-shouldered body with waisted flaring neck, applied foliate etched gilt handles attached with screws, body with applied oval reserves hand-painted with portraits of young dark-haired women in right and left three-quarter portraits, body decorated overall with gilt leaves and edged with gilt lines. The vase on the left in the pictures is marked three times-XXI, I, II - the vase on the right in the pictures is marked three times-VIII, I, II. The vase on the right has a chipped handle on the bottom end- See picture. Otherwise the vases are in very good condition with minor wear on the gilt. The vases were created in Austria in the late 19th century.
