Very rare museum quality Daum Nancy claret jug with sterling silver mount. Features 360º design with columbine flower growing out of the bottom on one side and reaching across the shoulder to a hanging flower on the other side. Sterling silver top hallmarked with French Minerva & maker's mark J.
In a diamond in three places (main body, lid & handle). Features floral designs with ribbons, chrysanthemum finial on lid, resting dragon on handle.
Signed on base DAVM NANCY with cross of Lorraine. Condition: Cameo glass is good other than several tiny (1mm) fleabites at bottom edge and one small (2mm chip) on green tendril. I'm being very picky here, the damage is barely visible. Sterling silver is in excellent condition throughout with good patina.Hinge is strong and straight, no dents or dings. Wine residue inside glass from use. Dimensions: 9" tall x 7" long x 2.5 wide.
