STUNNING Thomas Webb 3-Color CAMEO Art Glass 9.75 Vase, Signed, c. 1890
Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for STUNNING large tri-color English Cameo Art Glass vase by Thomas Webb & Sons, c. This gorgeous vase has a substantial size and exquisite cutting.
The vase has a bright citron yellow frosted glass semi-translucent body overlaid in raspberry and white and features cameo cut roses with foliage and the Thomas Webb signature butterfly on the back. The neck of the vase is decorated with an engraved diamond cut band of raspberry glass with the white overlaid design. These colors were typically used by Thomas Webb and cameo pieces in this coloration are easily identified as being made by Webb, however, this vase is signed with the Thomas Webb & Co.This vase was made during the period when the finest cameo glass and intaglio carving was produced and this vase is an excellent example. The quality of this piece is the very best and the delicate and intricate intaglio carving will amaze you. Measures 9 3/4" high with a maximum width of 6", a 4" diameter top and a 3 1/4" diameter base. This nice vase is in very good to excellent Estate condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs, however, the citron colored glass background does have one small faint scratch and a few minor no-harm abrasions from normal wear.
