UNUSUAL VINTAGE LOETZ'RICHARD CAMEO ART GLASS COVERED BOX, c. 1920's

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely vintage cameo etched and enameled Art Glass covered powder box. Measures 3" high with a 4" diameter base.

This powder box dates to the first quarter of the 20th century. Both the top and base of the box are nicely detailed with a design of hops and leaves on an acid cut back textured lemon yellow and mottled green background.

This nice cameo powder box was made by the Loetz Glassworks in Austria established in 1840. Most famous for their iridescent glass vases that rivaled Steuben and Tiffany, Loetz came out with a cameo line to compete with the French cameo glassmakers in the early 1900's and signed this cameo line "Richard". Production was not as extensive as their iridiscent glass and is not as easily found today.

This beautiful cameo glass box is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
