Vintage Signed Goldette Amethyst Art Glass Cameo Pendant Necklace
A beautiful and exquisite Victorian-style, triple-strand figaro chain necklace with amethyst-colored glass with open beset glass on each chain. Brand:GoldetteHistory: The Goldette brand often styled their jewelry to look like parts of Victorian fine jewelry were pieced together and made by a jeweler into a bracelet or a brooch. Their necklaces consisted of multistrand gold chains with a Victorian or Oriental-style centierpiece. Many of their longer necklaces have a distinctive fold-over clasp, pictured above. Their charm necklaces, pins, and sliding charm bracelets were their signature pieces.
Their earlier bracelets often had safety chains attached. The first use of the Goldette NY mark was in the fall 1955 by Goldette Costume Jewelry founded by Ben Gartner. In 1959 the NY was dropped, and after that until the late 1960s. Not all Goldette jewelry was signed.
