Emile Galle' Art Nouveau Desk lamp. French Cameo Art Glass. 17 1/2 Tall
Under consideration is an Art Nouveau. Multilayered Cameo carved glass, 17 1/2 inch tall, CLASSIC FRENCH CAMEO ART LAMP. Made in France and signed. Lamp design consists of 3 parts.
Glass parts, base, including stem, and shade, and the bronze spider fitter that support the shade. The glass base and shade have a series of raised Cameos of red floral blossoms and buds with brown leaves and stems, positioned around their circumferences. The bottom 5 inch of the base is decorated in a dark color. The round bulbous portion has 2 red/brown raised floral designs displayed on a white background. The mushroom shaped white shade has a 1 1/4 inch dark brown band of color around the rim bordered with a 1/4 inch irregular red trim.
There are 3 sets of raised red florals with brown foliage equally spaced around the circumference of the shade' white body. The 3rd part of the lamp is a unique securing support bracket for the shade.
There is a metal ring attached to the rim of the lamp body by 3 screws. Attached to the metal ring, with 2 screws each, are three 6-inch long bronze metal arms extending out from the center of the lamp. On the end of each arm are adjustable screw devices that, when properly set, secures the shade's rim to the metal support arms, preventing movement. There is a light bulb in the base and a light bulb under the shade.The illumination of these bulbs is adjustable by a rotational control on the electrical cord. Figures and forms of multilayered colored glass carved in relief against a background of contrasting colored glass. Height, including shade- 17 1/2 inch.
