EXTASIA Hand Pressed German Opalescent Glass Intaglio Cameo Agate Beads Necklace
I Love this jewelry line. Whether this is your first piece or your fifth, you will treasure each. There is something that sets this look apart, and will set you apart as well. Large German glass cameo pendant on hand knotted semi precious agate stone necklace.
The cameo is a translucent cream with an opalescent shimmer. I believe this to be their Butterscotch color.
The Cameo pendant is 1-5/8 inch round in a classic brass bezel setting. Note that there is some patina on the setting. The necklace is 17 inches long with a toggle closure. The back of the setting is engraved with'EXTASIA' and some scrolling. I took a photo on some jeans; it's a remarkably versatile piece of jewelry.
It can be elegant or funky. I'm genuinely obsessed by the Extasia line, wearing it nearly every day. It is unique in a world of sameness, and always a conversation starter - with both men and women, which I find interesting. Extasia glass cameos and itaglios are handmade in Europe by a small number of artisans using 100 year old techniques;it is a dying art.The beautiful settings are original designs by Stephanie Freydont (now deceased) and her design team. The pieces are set and assembled in their California studio. Note: If you have watched the show Deadwood (dark, explicit, Shakespearian, amazing), there is a LOT of Extasia jewelry. At that time, I Googled the show a lot trying to find out who did the jewelry, but no luck.
