Fenton Art Glass Vintage 1920s Cameo Opalescent Glass Swirled Optic Swung Vase
Fenton Art Glass Company started in 1905, and for over 100 years, produced some of America's most collectible forms of art glass. Carnival Glass, Colored Glass, Hobnail Glass and Decorated Glass in the form of vases, bowls, baskets, critters, and more. As well as dinner ware, was found in homes across the country and outside of the USA as well. Cameo glass was created in the 1920s, and the opalescence, which requires another chemical to the glass batch, and a second heating process, created some of the most beautiful pieces at its time.
It was later introduced again in the 1970s, and stayed in the line production until 1982. Offered for sale here is the 13 Swung Vase, #452, circa 1927. It is very hard to find and considered Rare in many books. As every piece is hand made, no two pieces are exactly the same. Our vase is actually just shy of 12, but it is still considered #452. There are no chips, scratches, cracks or repairs. There are no visible signs of wear.We have two more listings of Cameo Glass from the same era.
