Large Vintage Art Nouveau Cameo Overlay Glass Vase Galle Style
EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE & IMPRESSIVE VINTAGE CAMEO GLASS VASE. Presenting an exquisite vintage Galle style Cameo overlay glass vase with a wonderfully appealing Art Nouveau design. This exceptionally impressive piece is beautifully decorated with a raised pattern of flowers and foliage stylishly flowing around the elegantly shaped vessel. The acid-etched pattern has been masterfully executed and rendered with exceptional attention to detail. The leaves have a beautifully veined surface while addition engraving to the flowing petals wonderfully enhances the depth of the design. The vessel stylishly swells and tapers to create a sleekly curved and perfectly balanced form. The flowing lines and organically inspired design wonderfully encapsulates all of the style and grace of the Art Nouveau period. The body of the vessel graduates from deep aubergine purple at the top and wide flared base to delicate golden amber with mottled green accents throughout. The raised cameo layer smoothly blends aubergine purple with green tones. The surface of the vessel has an appealing satin frosted finish which enhances the tactile element of the design while beautifully diffusing the light, creating the impression that the glass is glowing from within. This piece looks exceptionally attractive with light illuminating the glass adding fabulous definition to the varying thicknesses of layers forming the cameo design. SIZE: This impressive piece stands approx 51cms or 20 inches tall, measures 14cms in diameter at the base and 11cms in diameter at the top rim. This substantial piece weighs 2.1kgs unpackaged. CONDITION: This piece is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There are two incredibly tiny scratches to the top of the foot, noticeable only on extremely close examination but mentioned for complete accuracy.
