Video will open in a new window. 1870 Rare Bohemian Big (14) Overlay Cameo Cutback Vase with Colorful Persian Florals could have been made by Harrach, Moser, or Josephinenhutte, and is reminiscent of the Persian Cameo Relief glass that was produced when the Romans influenced glass arts everywhere. Overlay white is hand-cut back to colorless crystal, and lavishly gilt & enameled with THE MOST COLORFUL flowers. The effect is that of a Moghul rock crystal treasure that sparkles like magic. Scarce technique, which is a shame, because it's just so beautiful. Bright, bold, & clean, inside and out. Superb condition, with only light loss to the gold.
