Steven Correia art glass vase, beautiful African Safari series Horse pattern, or could be Okapi, the small giraffe. Limited Edition and numbered 5/500 VE8537 from 2000 Limited Edition series for Correia. Measures 8.5" tall and just about 6.75" across the top. Weighs just under 3 pounds.Very substantial in size and weight, wow, this Safari style design! I can't tell if these are horses, okapi, or a little of both. Cameo glass style with the band of running horses cut or sandblasted on the pale amber yellow or light gold opaque glass. Each work by Correia is signed by the artist.
Bottom has some scuffing from use, and the camera magnifies the slightest flaw. Add this beauty to your glass collection! I have researched this and only seen similar items in black and white. Nothing with horses or okapi in this design/color combo. Correia Art Glass is of the highest quality and most elegant design. Its allure is the visual aesthetic of color, form and tactile sensation yet it is the perfect marriage of art and function. As a result, these pieces beg to be held and used. The molten magic of fire transforming sand from the American Southwest into glass is an entirely handmade process. Correia Art Glass uses their own formulas of minerals and precious metals. Each work of art is signed by the artist.
